RHINO ROCK imports, stocks and displays an attractive range of granite products in a variety of surface finishes.

There are many ways in which to treat the surface of stone and each one has an application in the home or garden. Here we show typical images and describe in brief the characteristic of each finish.

Care should be taken when choosing the surface finish of the stone product that you are considering purchasing; if in doubt ask for advice.

We would be happy to send you a sample.

polished granite Polished finish

High gloss, smooth finish most usually associated with indoor stone tiles.
honed granite Honed finish

Satin sheen, smooth finish usually associated with indoor stone tiles.
water jet surface Water jet finish

A high pressure water jet is used on the surface of the stone leaving it with a very fine textured finish. This finish is specified where the client requires a quality surface with some “anti-slip” properties.
sand blast finish Sand blast finish

The stone is sand blasted under high pressure to lightly stiple the surface.
The resulting finish has a more pronounced texture and is used where a moderate “anti-slip” surface is required.
chiselled finish Chiselled finish

Fine regular lines are etched into the surface of the stone leaving an attractive appearance.
This finish is most often seen on products for the garden
flamed finish Flamed finish

The surface of the stone is heated with a bare flame resulting in an even, moderatly textured finish.
Most often seen on outdoor paving slabs for patios.
It offers excellent “anti-slip” properties.
brushed finish Brushed finish

The surface of the stone is firstly heated with a bare flame and then wire brushed creating a well worn, textured finish.
bush hammered surface Bush hammered finish

The surface of the stone is hammered resulting in an even, medium textured finish.
Most often seen on outdoor paving slabs for patios.
It offers excellent “anti-slip” properties.
